On all the cases when the download successfully completed, the iso file was corrupted, since it didn't match the SHA1 checksum from the MSDN download page. On about 40% of the cases, the download does not get finished because of various errors reported by the download manager (sometimes it reports an error during the download, other times after the download is finished it reports that the file is corrupt and that it should be downloaded again). I have been trying to download for more than 15 times in the last 36 hours, using both IE8 (which uses the Akamai ActiveX) and FireFox 3.6 (which uses the Akamai Java applet). Over here in Romania, internet connections are pretty fast (I get 2 - 2.5 MB/s when making the download), but this didn't help me in downloading a working copy of the Visual Studio iso file. I also have massive problems in downloading the Visual Studio 2010 using the Akamai download manager.
